THE SITUATION
"I was wearing too many hats."
When Clay Ford approached True Boost Digital in the fall of 2022, he was in the midst of launching his dog training business, Greenside Canine Training. His story at the helm of a startup is a familiar one:
“As a new business owner, I struggled with wearing too many hats,” explains Clay. “Trying to be a dog trainer, accountant, marketing guru, receptionist, salesman, social media manager, kennel manager…”
Clay recognized that he needed to outsource some of the key functions of the business in order to free up this time and focus on growing his business.
“My biggest goal with hiring True Boost was to have someone that cared about my marketing as much as I did. I needed someone to take that job over for me so I could focus more on my product and my people.”

Positioning Greenside Canine as a trusted source for dog training
We worked extensively with Greenside Canine to formulate a comprehensive growth strategy. This included discovery meetings to learn more about the overall business plan and its USPs, in addition to understanding the longer-term goals for the business.
The initial aim was to position Greenside Canine Training as a trusted source for dog training in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas of Indiana.
Our strategy included:
- Building a sleek website that emphasized the credentials of Clay and his team, including their professionalism, education and experience
- Creating a Resource Hub via the Greenside Canine blog, publishing expert-led content that would prove valuable to dog owners in Indiana
- Implementing a paid advertising strategy through Search advertising such as Google Ads, that would see tangible RoI in the early months and provide a platform for sustainable growth

Greenside Canine’s website launched in early 2023. A concentrated campaign of informative blog content was published in the formative months of the website, which led to positive early numbers. This was accompanied by an effective Google Ads campaign that generated revenue that Clay was able to continually reinvest back into his business.

Real progress was seen in 2024. Organic sessions increased by 217% year-over-year, fueled by ongoing success of the website’s blog section that provided valuable information to users. The success was reflected in December of that year, when Greenside Canine was voted by the local community as the best Pet Kennel, Boarding and Daycare facility in the state of Indiana – a phenomenal achievement after two years in business.
Since then, Greenside has continued to move from strength to strength. Continued development of their website and innovation with their marketing activity has enabled them to train and offer pet and protection dogs for sale, in addition to expanding their state-of-the-art training facility.
